Following the recognition of the International Padel Federation (FIP) by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Padel has been officially included in the sports program of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. This marks a decisive step for the expansion of the sport in Asia and for its growing presence on a global level.
The announcement was released through the official channels of the OCA.
The decision follows a meeting between FIP President, Luigi Carraro, and OCA Director General, Husain Al Musallam, held at the OCA headquarters in Kuwait during the first week of November, on the occasion of the first FIP World Cup Pairs. The inclusion of Padel reflects the rapid growth of the sport throughout Asia, where participation, infrastructure, and competitive activities have increased significantly in recent years.
“We are thrilled to see Padel in the Asian Games program,” stated FIP President Luigi Carraro. “This milestone highlights the global growth of the sport and offers our athletes in Asia new opportunities to showcase their talent on one of the continent’s greatest sporting stages. We look forward to collaborating with the OCA, Padel Asia, and our National Federations to make the 2026 Games an extraordinary celebration of sport and Padel.”
The inclusion of Padel in the 2026 Asian Games further strengthens the sport’s role within the Olympic movement and represents an important milestone for its international ambitions.
